Two bookmarklets

Drag both to your bookmarks bar. They run entirely inside the page you're reading, using the session you're already signed in with — no password is stored anywhere, and nothing is sent to any server but your own.

Send to Kobo Click this on an article. Grabs the text, opens Kobo Press with it loaded.
Pick region Click once per site to teach it which part of the page is the article. Remembered for that site.

How to use it

  1. Highlight text first and "Send to Kobo" captures exactly that. Nothing else needed.
  2. Nothing highlighted? It uses the region you saved with "Pick region" for that site.
  3. Never picked one? It guesses, by finding the block with the most paragraph text.

For a multi-part volume: set Captured text → Append in the app, then capture message 1, go back, capture message 2, and so on. Each arrives as a new chapter and the whole volume goes across as one book. Your draft is saved between visits.

On Android

Bookmarklets are awkward on phones. Two options that aren't:

  1. Select the text, then Share → Kobo Press. Works today, no setup.
  2. Bookmarklet via the address bar: bookmark any page, edit the bookmark, replace its URL with the text under "Copy the raw code" below and name it kobo. Then type kobo in the address bar while reading and pick it from the suggestions.

If a site blocks it

A few sites set a Content Security Policy strict enough to stop bookmarklets in Firefox. Chrome generally allows them. If "Send to Kobo" does nothing at all, highlight the text and use the share sheet instead, or copy and paste into the app directly — the converter doesn't care how the text arrives.
